Yahoo introduced on Thursday to India its Social news - Buzz, top news stories and blog posts based on user votes and search patterns.
India is the first market outside the U.S. to get Buzz. Over 60 percent of Internet users in the country are younger than 25 years old, and there is a lot of interest among users in social media tools such as Buzz, said Frazier Miller, head of audience at Yahoo India.
Yahoo often tests out new technologies in India, one of the company's key markets. Before rolling it out in the U.S, Yahoo tested in India its new Glue search concept that aggregates text, images and video listing.

Russia launches US communication satellite
Russian space agency Roscosmos : Russia Saturday launched a rocket carrying a US communication satellite into space from the Baikonur space centre in Kazakhstan,
'The launch of the Proton-M rocket fitted with a Breeze-M booster and carrying a ProtoStar-2 telecommunication satellite went ahead at the scheduled time,' a spokesperson of the Roscosmos said.
ProtoStar Ltd is a private company based in Bermuda. Its US operations are based in San Francisco and California, while its Asian operations are conducted from Singapore.

Baby massage helps in the overall growth and development of the bones and muscles of the baby
Here are some tips for a good infant massage:
* When you massage your baby, make sure that you remove all the jewelry like rings, bracelets etc.
* Giving a massage, make sure that your hands have been properly washed. Make sure that you hands are warm and not cold when you touch your baby.
* When you are going to begin the massage, ensure that you have all your oils, towels, bath mats, diapers etc. in place.
* Spread the mat on a flat surface. Place your baby, undressed and with the face up, on the mat.
* Your strokes on the baby’s body should be firm and smooth, but not too hard.
* Use light circular movements on the stomach area. Avoid the spine.
* The direction of the strokes on the arms and legs should be downwards, and the direction of the strokes on the back should be upwards.
* Keep eye contact with the baby. Sing or talk to your child while massaging.
* Avoid putting oil on the baby’s fingers or palms, as babies tend to put them into their mouths.
* Avoid massaging the baby right after feeding, or when the baby is ill. Do not wake up the baby for the massage.
* Avoid areas where the baby has rashes or wounds, or where the infant may have received injections, as this may cause further pain to the baby.

Microsoft, Verizon in talks to launch iPhone rival: report
San Francisco, April 29 (Xinhua) Microsoft is in discussions with Verizon Wireless to launch a touch-screen multimedia cellphone in the US early next year in a bid to compete with Apple's iPhone.
While Microsoft is involved in the design of the phone's software and hardware, a third-party is expected to make the device, The Wall Street Journal reported, quoting sources close to the development.
Microsoft's project is code-named 'Pink' and the cellphone would use the software giant's Windows Mobile operating system, the report said.
The news of a possible Microsoft-Verizon partnership came one day after another US newspaper reported that Verizon is in talks with Apple for the possible development of an iPhone for Verizon, with the goal of introducing it next year.

Supercomputer sets world record defeating professional Go players
Washington, May 15 (ANI): A French software called 'MoGo TITAN', which runs on the Dutch national supercomputer Huygens, has set a new world record by defeated two professional 'Go' players at the Taiwan Open 2009.
During the first two days of the event, MoGo TITAN has set two new world records by winning a 19x19 competition with a 7-stones handicap against the 9P dan professional Go player Jun-Xun Zhou, and a 19x19 competition with a 6-stones handicap against the 1P dan professional Go player Li-Chen Chien.
The latest record marks the second victory of Huygens playing Go against professional players.

Israel's domestic intelligence agency issued a rare public warning on Monday that terror groups were using popular social networking Web sites like Facebook to recruit, and possibly kidnap, Israeli citizens.
The Shin Bet security service said in its statement it had "received many reports of terror groups approaching Israelis on the internet offering to recruit them and possibly kidnap them".
The statement mentioned one incident in which an Israeli citizen had been approached on Facebook by a man who described himself as a Lebanese merchant and then offered to pay for classified information.

Sensex surges, city investors look for bright days ahead

Bharti Airtel crosses 100 million subscriber mark
New Delhi, May 15 (IANS) Leading telecom operator Bharti Airtel Friday said its mobile phone subscriber base had crossed the 100-million mark, making the company the third largest single country service provider in the world.
'Bharti Airtel has achieved 100-million subscriber mark,' said a beaming Sunil Bharti Mittal, chairman of the Rs.375 billion company. 'This milestone reiterates the emergence of India as the world's top telecom markets,' he told a press conference here.

South Korea tries recharging road to power vehicles
South Korea's top technology university has developed a plan to power electric cars through recharging strips embedded in roadways that use a technology to transfer energy found in some electric toothbrushes.
The plan, still in the experimental stage, calls for placing power strips about 20 cm (8 inches) to 90 cm (35 inches) wide and perhaps several hundred metres long built into the top of roads.

'Slumdog Millionaire' children back on streets, shanties razed
Nearly 20 children who acted in the Oscar-winning 'Slumdog Millionaire' have been thrown on the streets after Mumbai civic authorities Thursday morning demolished nearly 50 huts in a slum here, terming the slum unauthorised.
Azharuddin Ismail M. Shaikh, the main child star of the movie, said a team of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) came unannounced this morning, ordered them to move out of their shanties in Garib Nagar slum of Bandra East and demolished them.
'We have nowhere to go. We are just sitting on the road in the blazing sun right now. All our belongings and other household goods have either been thrown out or damaged. We don't know what we will eat today,' Azhar, crying inconsolably, told IANS.
